The Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo Garba, has charged newly passed out police constables in the state to uphold professionalism, discipline, and integrity in the discharge of their duties.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna, on Monday.

According to the statement, 554 newly graduated police constables have been deployed to various divisional offices and departments across the state in line with the directives of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.

Addressing the new officers at the Command Headquarters in Bompai, Kano, CP Dogo Garba congratulated them on their successful training and reminded them of the responsibility that comes with wearing the police uniform.

“You are expected to be good ambassadors of the Nigeria Police Force, upholding the highest standards of professionalism and respect for human rights,” he said.

“You must adhere to the provisions of the Police Act, 2020, and work in accordance with the rule of law.”

The commissioner emphasized that their primary duty is to serve and protect the people of Kano while maintaining discipline and professionalism in their interactions with the public.

He also advised them to start planning for their future, including their eventual retirement.
