The Kano State government has sought collaboration with Saudi Arabia to establish a Cardiac and Urology Centre for advanced medical treatment for less privileged patients requiring open-heart surgery and urology procedures.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, represented by his deputy, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, made the call during the Annual Iftar organised by the Royal Consulate General of Saudi Arabia in Kano.

He commended the successful free cardiac and urology surgeries on 114 patients conducted by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre in collaboration with the Muslim World League at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH).

Yusuf noted that the programme supported patients who could not afford the costly surgeries and stressed the need to strengthen the long-standing Nigeria-Saudi relationship, rooted in centuries of Hajj pilgrimages.

The Consul General, Khalil Admawiy, reiterated Saudi Arabia’s commitment to enhancing partnerships with Kano State and thanked attendees.
