Kaduna renews commitment to transforming children's lives through quality education, healthcare

The Kaduna state government has reiterated its commitment towards improving and transforming the lives of the children through inclusive learning, mentorship, nurturing enabling environment, in the areas of access to quality education, healthcare and social protection services.
The Commissioner, Ministry of Human Services and Social Development, Kaduna state, Hajiya Rabi Salisu, reiterated the government’s commitment while speaking at the International Children’s Day organised by the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna over the weekend.
She said the theme for this year’s celebration, ‘Stand Up, Speak Up: Building a Bullying-free Generation’, resonates deeply with the government’s values and governance agenda.
“This theme reminds us that every child, regardless of their background, ability, or circumstance, deserves to be heard, valued, and catered for. Today’s occasion is another opportunity for leaders at all levels to create enabling environments where children can feel included, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.
“Let us work together to break down barriers, confront challenges, combat stereotypes, and promote equality for all children in our communities, the state and our nation,” she said.
She assured the children that their voices matter, their dreams are important, and their futures are bright: “Together let us nurture your talents, protect your rights, and provide you with the opportunities you deserve.”
“Our administration places a high premium on the welfare and security of our children. We have made significant progress in promoting children’s development and education, addressing the challenges of out-of-school children, and providing support to vulnerable groups, including girls and persons with disabilities.
“I wish to reiterate the government’s commitment towards improving and transforming the lives of our children in a more inclusive learning, mentorship, nurturing, and enabling environment, in the areas of access to quality education, healthcare and social protection services. Happy International Children’s Day!”
Earlier in his remarks, the Chief Medical Director of the Hospital, Brigadier General Godwin Ogoh, thanked the parents and teachers who work tirelessly to support and guide the young minds, describing their role in shaping their future as ‘priceless’.
According to the CMD, “Children are the hopes of tomorrow and the dreams of today. Their laughter, curiosity, energy, and creativity light up our lives and remind us of the beauty of innocence and imagination. On this day, we celebrate not just their presence but also their potential, the endless possibilities that lie ahead of them.
“To all our wonderful children here: You are unique, talented, and capable of amazing things. Never stop dreaming, exploring, or believing in yourself. Today is your day, a day to smile, play, laugh, and be celebrated for everything that makes you who you are,” said General Ogoh.
