Kaduna Government School In Pitiable Condition, Lacks Furniture As Pupils Bring Stools From Home Daily

The school has no single desk or chair, leaving more than 100 children to learn in bare, harsh classrooms where many must sit on dusty floors or lean against cracked walls.

Some pupils at the Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) Primary School Maje in Danmahawayi Ward, Giwa Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State are forced to carry stools or small benches from home each day just to be able to sit during lessons — and take them back home after school.

The school has no single desk or chair, leaving more than 100 children to learn in bare, harsh classrooms where many must sit on dusty floors or lean against cracked walls.

The burden of carrying seating materials to and from school is just one layer of indignity the children endure daily.

According to a civic technology platform, Monitng: "These children sit on bare floors to learn every day because the school does not have a single desk or chair."

"Some pupils carry stools or small benches from home, taking them back after school."

"This terrible situation shows how deeply neglected public education has become."

"Despite billions allocated to education by the Kaduna State Government in recent years, schools like this remain in this shameful state."

"No child should have to suffer just to get an education."

"These pupils deserve a dignified, safe, and conducive learning environment. The time to act is now."

Monitng has called on Governor Uba Sani to urgently intervene and ensure that the school is furnished and renovated immediately.
