The petition was served to the commission on January 13 by former Law Society of Kenya (LSK) president Nelson Havi.

He seeks the removal of the entire Supreme Court bench.

In addition to Koome, justices Smokin Wanjala, Njoki Ndungu, Isaac Lenaola, William Ouko, Philomena Mwilu, and Mohamed Ibrahim are on the chopping board.

"The petition, received on 13th January 2025, makes allegations of gross misconduct and misbehaviour against the aforementioned judges," the JSC said in a statement.
