Action fans are clearly eager to board the new action movie led by 30 Days of Night and Trap star Josh Hartnett . Hartnett, who is currently going through a career resurgence following stellar performances in the likes of Christopher Nolan’s Oscar-winning Oppenheimer, becomes an offbeat John Wick-esque hero in the action outing, which is now climbing the global streaming charts.
Now regarded by many as one of the best action movies in years, is now “certified fresh” with a solid 77% on Rotten Tomatoes. Directed by James Madigan (Runaways) and written by Brooks McLaren and D. J. Cotrona, Fight or Flight stars Josh Hartnett alongside Charithra Chandran (Bridgerton), Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica, The Mandalorian), and Marko Zaror (John Wick: Chapter 4). Fight or Flight is now climbing the streaming charts, landing at #9 on the Prime Video global top 10 behind the likes of Wrath of Man, Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, The Accountant, and Jason Statham’s latest action thriller, A Working Man. 'Reacher' Star Alan Ritchson's New Action Thriller Gets the Perfect Hype From Co-Star Jai Courtney
In an exclusive interview with MovieWeb, Jai Courtney teases his and Alan Ritchson's high-concept sci-fi action movie.
“Exiled American agent Lucas Reyes (Josh Hartnett) is given one last chance to redeem himself -- the assignment is to track down and identify a mysterious, international high-value asset known only as The Ghost on a flight from Bangkok to San Francisco. Complicating matters, the plane is filled with assassins from around the world who are assigned to kill them both. The pair must work together in a fight for their lives. At 37,000 feet, the stakes have never been higher.”

MovieWeb’s own Greg Archer found plenty to enjoy watching Josh Hartnett take down his enemies while 30,000 feet in the air, calling Fight or Flight “one of the best airplane thrillers” in years.
Josh Hartnett (Trap) keeps the beleaguered-albeit-sexy Zaddy vibe alive in Fight or Flight, a new action thriller that blends the gritty edge of the John Wick movies with the relentless spunk of Jackie Chan flicks. The film, directed by James Madigan, is as joyfully bombastic as it is gory and bloody. (So bloody, in fact.) It’s one of the best airplane thrillers to arrive in recent years, right up there with Gerard Butler’s Plane.
But what drew Hartnett to his first lead action hero role in some time? Well, speaking with MovieWeb’s own George Edelman, Hartnett revealed that he really wanted to perform his own stunts. Something which the action-packed Fight or Flight gives him ample opportunity to do.
“Really the tone of it was the most important thing to us. Like, I always wanted to do something where I did my own stunts. I've been able to do one other time in my career. It was a movie called Boon Raku. I was 29 years old, and when they asked me to do this, and the conceit of it is that the actor does his own stunts. I'm 44-45 at the time. I was like, this is going to be different.”
