Seyi Vibez partners with EMPIRE, drops new single 'Pressure'
Nigerian singer and songwriter Balogun Afolabi Oluwaloseyi, popularly known as Seyi Vibez, has sealed a fresh partnership with international music label EMPIRE and released a new single titled “Pressure” as part of the deal.
The announcement surfaced on Thursday via an official statement, with the singer describing the new track as a smooth, emotionally driven shift from his usual street-style sound.
“It leans into melody, intimacy and raw emotion. It’s smoother, softer and more intentional,” he said. “Sometimes the loudest statement is how you move when no one’s watching. That’s real pressure.”
The 24-year-old rose to fame in 2022 with his debut album “Billion Dollar Baby”, blending Afro-street vibes with emotional lyrics rooted in the rhythms of his Lagos neighbourhood.
Since then, Seyi has become one of Nigeria’s most streamed artistes globally.
His February 2024 EP “Children of Africa” saw all four tracks debut on the U.S. Billboard Afrobeats Songs chart, according to Billboard.
The singer has also collaborated with several top names, including Burna Boy, Olamide, Kizz Daniel, BNXN, Young Jonn, and U.S. acts Russ and NLE Choppa.
According to recent data from Luminate, his catalogue has amassed over 400 million on-demand streams in the United States alone.
Speaking on the new deal, EMPIRE’s West Africa Regional Head, Mobolaji Kareem, praised Seyi’s talent and market potential.
“We are happy to partner with Seyi Vibez, an artist whose vocal dexterity and versatility truly stand out,” he said. “We look forward to helping his continued growth as a global artist.”
Seyi Vibez also reflected on his journey and cultural identity.
“I’m stepping into this new chapter with the spirit of my ancestors. I carry the energy of Orisa: the guardian, the protector, the voice of the city ”he told Billboard.
