Jon Gosier Named EY Southeast Entrepreneur of the Year
Jon Gosier, the visionary Founder and CEO of FilmHedge, a leading film and TV fintech financing platform, has been officially recognized as a 2025 Entrepreneur of the Year® Southeast Award winner by Ernst & Young. This prestigious honor was presented on Wednesday, June 26th, at an elegant gala held at the Coca-Cola Roxy Theatre in Atlanta. Gosier was among a distinguished group of ten entrepreneurs chosen from 32 regional finalists, who will now advance to the national level of this renowned program.
Now in its 40th year, the Entrepreneur of the Year® program celebrates the achievements of entrepreneurial leaders who demonstrate remarkable innovation, purpose-driven leadership, and a bold vision in transforming industries and generating long-term value. The Southeast region of the program encompasses leaders from Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. A panel of independent judges meticulously selected the finalists and winners, evaluating them based on their entrepreneurial spirit, the performance of their companies, and their significant impact on their respective communities and industries.
Expressing his gratitude, Gosier stated, "It's an honor to be recognized among such an accomplished group of entrepreneurs. This award not only acknowledges the work we're doing at FilmHedge, but also the global and unconventional path I've taken to get here." His sentiments underscore the unique journey that led him to this point, marked by a commitment to innovation at the confluence of private credit and media finance.
Since its launch in 2020, FilmHedge has been at the forefront of financial technology in the entertainment sector. The platform leverages advanced artificial intelligence and proprietary data technology to streamline and automate critical processes such as risk assessment, underwriting, and deal analysis for short-term loans extended to film and television productions. By providing essential capital solutions for producers holding pre-sale agreements with major streamers, studios, and distributors, FilmHedge addresses a crucial market need. Gosier elaborated on their core mission, stating, "The problem we solve is how to mitigate risk for institutional and individual investors in the film and television asset class. For our investors, capital preservation is paramount."
Gosier's entrepreneurial journey spans over two decades, during which he has successfully built and scaled ventures across North America, Europe, and Africa. Before establishing FilmHedge, he co-founded Audigent, a programmatic advertising company that was successfully acquired by Experian in a nine-figure transaction in 2024. His earlier endeavors also include founding Appfrica, one of East Africa's pioneering software development firms, based in Uganda. His extensive work bridging technology, finance, and media has cemented his reputation as a forward-thinking leader, particularly in emerging markets and creative economies.
FilmHedge, as a company, specializes in providing private credit and financing solutions, capable of offering up to $25 million per film or TV production for qualified producers. Beyond direct financing, the company employs data analytics to track vital financial metrics within the film and TV production landscape, including interest rates and the creditworthiness of producers and production companies. Since its inception in 2020, FilmHedge’s dedicated staff and partners have collectively directed more than $200 million towards various film and television productions. Jon Gosier is now set to represent the Southeast region in the national EY Entrepreneur of the Year® Awards later this year, further solidifying his impact on the industry.
