John Wick and Gladiator Stars Unite for New Action Thriller

John Wick: Chapter 4 star Scott Adkins and Gladiator actor Djimon Hounsou join forces for a new action thriller from the director of Undisputed II: Last Man Standing.

Per Variety, . The new action film reunites Adkins and Florentine, who had worked together previously on both Undisputed II: Last Man Standing and Undisputed III: Redemption. The two most recently collaborated on another action film, Seized, back in 2020. Adkins recently starred in The Killer's Game with Dave Bautista and had a show-stealing appearance as the mob boss "Killa" in John Wick: Chapter 4. His One Last Fight co-star, Hounsou, is best known for his roles in Gladiator and Guardians of the Galaxy. Hounsou was recently seen in the horror prequel, A Quiet Place: Day One, which saw him reprise his role as Henri from A Quiet Place: Part II.

One Last Fight follows "British ex-Muay Thai champion turned instructor Marcus (Adkins) and his wife Ammara, who are running a training camp in Bangkok. While mourning the loss of their child, Marcus discovers that Ammara’s younger brother Chet, a promising Muay Thai boxer, owes money to a local crime boss — forcing him to participate in a series of brutal underground fights orchestrated by charismatic Nigerian gangster Tiga (Hounsou). As Marcus tries to help Chet get out of trouble, he is coerced by Tiga into replacing Chet in the illegal arena, plunging him and his family into a dark world of visceral violence with much more at stake than he’d ever imagined." The film is written by Karim Chériguène and Yvan Gauthier and is set to begin filming in May. There is no official release date for One Last Fight.

In addition to One Last Fight, Adkins is also set to star alongside Ben Affleck and Matt Damon in RIP, a crime thriller for Netflix. The official logline for RIP reads: "Upon discovering millions in cash in a derelict stash house, trust among a team of Miami cops begins to fray. As outside forces learn about the size of the seizure, everything is called into question — including who they can rely on." RIP is co-written and directed by Joe Carnahan and also stars Steven Yeun, Kyle Chandler, Teyana Taylor, and Sasha Calle. There is no official release date for the film yet, however, it is expected to drop on Netflix in Fall 2025.

RIP will serve as Affleck and Damon's newest collaboration, having had a long and storied career with one another. The lifelong friends had their career breakouts after writing and starring in Good Will Hunting, which earned the pair the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. They most recently reunited for Air, a film which told the story of how Nike came to partner up with arguably the greatest basketball player to ever live, Michael Jordan. Before that, Damon and Affleck also starred in 2021's The Last Duel, a period drama from iconic director Ridley Scott.

There is no official release date for One Last Fight.
