Japa: Founder preaches patriotism as Osun College of Health matriculates 305 students

The founder of Ikirun College of Health Technology, Mr. Abdullateef Oyewale, has called on health practitioners and students to embrace patriotism and integrity as a means of addressing the growing brain drain in Nigeria’s health sector.
Speaking at the college’s maiden matriculation ceremony held at the institution’s campus in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Osun State, Oyewale said he established the school to counter the adverse effects of mass emigration of healthcare workers to Western countries.

“The college was born out of a deep desire to bridge the gap in quality health education, especially in our region,” he said. “We envisioned an institution where excellence meets compassion, where future healthcare professionals are nurtured not only with knowledge but also with integrity, empathy, and commitment to service.”
Addressing the 305 matriculating students, Oyewale urged them to prioritise national interest as they pursue their academic and professional goals.
“Our motive is to train more health professionals to fill the vacuum created by those who have left the country. That is why I encourage all students to put love for Nigeria first as they go through their training,” he said.

He affirmed the institution’s commitment to providing world-class education, hands-on training, and a supportive environment for students.
Also speaking at the event, the Rector, Mr. Salaudeen Oyewale, advised students to embrace their studies with passion and humility, and to ensure their character reflects the core values of the college.
