Chandler and Pierre hit the road in the American heartland as two Green Lanterns named Hal Jordan and John Steward, respectively. The two investigate murders while on the road and as per the official logline, the series will follow “new recruit John Stewart and Lantern legend Hal Jordan, two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.” The cast also features Kelly Macdonald as Sheriff Kerry, Garret Dillahunt as the modern cowboy William Macon, Poorna Jagannathan as John’s potential love interest Zoe and Ulrich Thomsen as Green Lantern villain Sinestro, starring alongside Chandler and Pierre.
Lanterns is co-written by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof and Tom King and all three of them are expected to be executive producers alongside James Hawes. Hawes is also slated to direct the first two episodes. On X, Gunn reveals that the Lanterns series has begun production. The first season will have eight episodes. Other projects coming up are the animated series My Adventures With Green Lantern, a spin-off of the popular Max series. No official release date for Lanterns has been released just yet.
