The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a critical directive to candidates who applied for the 2024 Direct Entry (DE) admissions using awaiting results from the Interim Joint Matriculation Board Examination (IJMB) or the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB). According to an official statement, these candidates are required to immediately upload their results to the JAMB portal at any of the approved Computer Based Test (CBT) centers as soon as the results are released. Failure to comply with this directive will result in disqualification from consideration for the 2024 DE admission cycle.

Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Public Communication Advisor of JAMB, emphasized the urgency of this matter in a recent statement. He noted that during the 2024 DE registration period, a number of candidates registered with ‘awaiting results’ (AR) status, indicating that they were yet to receive their IJMB or JUPEB results. The board has now mandated that these candidates take immediate action to upload their results once they are released.

The statement explicitly clarifies that JAMB will not consider any candidate for admission with awaiting results, aligning with the existing policy for Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates. This strict stance underscores the importance of verifying all candidate credentials to accurately determine their eligibility for admission. Any application that remains marked as ‘awaiting result’ (AR) after the release of IJMB or JUPEB results will be automatically disqualified from admission consideration.
