Jack Black returns as iconic skater in 'Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4'
Jack Black will return to Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 as playable skater Officer Dick.
Officer Dick was first introduced as a secret skater in 1999’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and appeared in the following two sequels, as well as 2006’s Project 8. He returned in 2020’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, voiced by Jack Black.
It’s now been confirmed that Jack Black’s Officer Dick will be appearing in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4. “Richard Ennvee was mocked by other skaters and called a ‘poser.’ Overtaken by the need for revenge, Dick vowed to one day become what those skaters feared most – the long arm of the law,” said Activision.
Black will also star as Officer Dick’s British counterpart, Constable Richard who is “every bit as hard-nosed and utterly ridiculous as Officer Dick.”
“So we really loved Jack Black’s inclusion in the previous iteration. He played a character called Officer Dick, and in the school maps, he was this school security guard who would yell at the skater and try and run them off the grounds,” said game director Kurt Tillmanns in an interview with Variety.
“We just thought that was a really fun, interesting character and kept in this tradition of the celebrity cameo in a Tony Hawk game. We wanted to carry that forward; we were really thankful he we reached out to him and he was down to to come back, but we wanted to tell a little bit more of the Officer Dick story.”

“This is an interesting evolution of Officer Dick’s midlife crisis of hating the skater,” Tillmanns continued. “In the last one, he’s just on this high school ground, and trying to yell at the skaters, control the skaters. And now he’s evolved, as his power trip has gone into becoming the campus security sheriff of a college. We wanted to bring him back and put our own stamp on it in that way and we’re really happy that he was absolutely game to do that.”

Activision hasn’t confirmed how players will be able to unlock Jack Black’s Officer Dick or Constable Richard but in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, he was available after completing all the Create-A-Skater Challenges.
Other confirmed secret skaters in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 include the Doom slayer and OG Pro Skater Bam Margera. Earlier this year, fans were outraged that Margera had seemingly been cut from Pro Skater 3+4. It was later reported that Hawk demanded he be added to the game – with his inclusion officially announced last month.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 will launch July 11 and will be available on PC as well as PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch consoles. It will also be a Day One launch on Xbox Game Pass.
