Nigerian actress Iyabo Ojo has refuted claims that the Tanzanian government sponsored her daughter, Priscilla Ojo’s wedding to Tanzanian singer, Juma Jux.

The actress reacted on Instagram following a warning from Tanzanian media personality, Mange Kimambi, who advised Priscilla to stop posting romantic photos and videos with her husband until after the Tanzanian elections.

Ojo strongly defended her daughter, accusing Kimambi of attempting to intimidate the couple and insisting that Priscilla would not be silenced. “I don’t joke with my daughter,” she wrote in a lengthy Instagram post.

She also addressed the viral speculation about the wedding’s funding, stating it was entirely financed by Nigerians. “It is not your government that gave us the money,” she declared. “It is a tradition in my family. I want an elaborate wedding for my daughter in Nigeria, and we, the Nigerians, gave her one.”
