iXAfrica and EdgeNext plan to drive edge infrastructure growth across East Africa - Developing Telecoms
iXAfrica Data Centres, which owns and operates East Africa’s first hyperscale, AI-ready data centre, in Kenya, and EdgeNext, a global leader in cloud infrastructure and edge computing services, say they have partnered to drive the next wave of digital infrastructure growth across the region.
This strategic alliance combines EdgeNext’s global edge platform, including CDN, bare metal, and edge compute, with iXAfrica’s state-of-the-art infrastructure and carrier-neutral ecosystem at its flagship Nairobi One (NBOX1) campus.
Together, the two companies say they are committing to delivering mission-critical, low-latency, and high-performance solutions tailored to the needs of enterprise clients in the financial services, media, telecom and cloud-native sectors.
With East Africa emerging as a fastest-grow digital economy, EdgeNext and iXAfrica say that this partnership positions them as key enablers of regional cloud transformation.
Through this partnership, they say, enterprise customers will benefit from: ultra-low latency and edge acceleration for real-time workloads; localised compute and content delivery that enhances compliance and performance; and scalable infrastructure for AI, fintech, gaming, and media deployments.
EdgeNext and iXAfrica will be offering a suite of integrated, enterprise-grade solutions for companies seeking to modernise their digital infrastructure. From bare metal to advanced edge services, this partnership, they say, equips organisations with the tools to operate efficiently, securely and at scale.
As Terence Wang, CEO of EdgeNext, points out: “Partnering with iXAfrica allows us to bring our global edge platform closer to where digital demand is scaling fastest. This alliance enables enterprises in East Africa to deploy latency-sensitive applications, deliver content seamlessly, and meet regulatory data sovereignty requirements all from a local base.”
Snehar Shah, CEO of iXAfrica, adds: “This partnership with EdgeNext unlocks new possibilities for enterprises operating in East Africa. It reflects our long-term vision to build the continent’s most trusted, AI-optimised digital infrastructure, empowering global brands to deploy, scale and thrive.”
