IU basketball trending up in latest projections for 2025 NCAA tournament
As a result, the Hoosiers are moving up in the most recent bracketology projections.
Bracketologist Andy Bottoms will be back later this week with an updated projection on Inside the Hall, but here’s the latest on where IU stands as of Tuesday morning:
Lunardi released an updated bracket today and has IU as a No. 11 seed and the last team in the field receiving a bye. That means the Hoosiers would avoid a First Four game in Dayton. Lunardi’s bracket places IU in Denver against Saint Mary’s.
The four teams directly behind Indiana, per Lunardi: Ohio State, Arkansas, Nebraska and Boise State. The Hoosiers host the Buckeyes on Saturday in Bloomington.
Palm also has Indiana avoiding the First Four in Dayton in his latest bracket released today. Palm has the Hoosiers as a No. 10 seed in Cleveland against Saint Mary’s.
Palm’s most recent last four in: Xavier, Baylor, Boise State and Arkansas followed by Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio State and Cincinnati as the first four out.
The latest Delphi Bracketology projection, also released Tuesday, has the Hoosiers as a No. 11 seed against Marquette in Providence. This projection also keeps the Hoosiers out of Dayton in the First Four.
The last four in, according to Delphi: Ohio State, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Nebraska. And the first four out: Boise State, Xavier, North Carolina and Texas.
A top ten bracketologist over at the Bracket Matrix, Miller’s latest projection has Indiana as a No. 11 seed playing Boise State in the First Four in Dayton. The winner of that game would play Mississippi State in Providence.
Another top 20 performer over at the Bracket Matrix, Browning’s latest projections have the Hoosiers as a No. 11 seed against Ole Miss in Seattle.
Here is the breakdown of bubble teams: the last four byes are Indiana, San Diego State, Georgia and Utah State. The last four in are Boise State, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Arkansas. And the first four out are Xavier, North Carolina, Ohio State and Cincinnati.
Another longtime participant in the Bracket Matrix, Lucas Harkins puts together his projections for Heat Check CBB. His latest projections have IU as a No. 11 seed against Mississippi State in Providence.
Harkins has IU as the last team in the field receiving a bye, which would allow the Hoosiers to escape a First Four game in Dayton.
