Last night I managed to be hooked to my CPAP Machines for more than Seven Hours before getting up to start my day. I felt well rested and had things ready to have for breakfast before sitting at my Computer. Kathy was up before it would turn on The Weather Network but if I clean off the Cookies, I’ll lose accreditation on a program that I use.
I’d like to thank those that understood the loss of my Aunt Anna yesterday. Born June 1st 1939, she like my mother faced a harsh upbringing by my grandparents, My grandfather believed the kids were needed on the farm and stood at the door facing the Truancy Officer with a Shotgun, because he would not allow them to go to school. It wasn’t until she married that she took private lessons to learn to Read. She also faced challenges supporting her family while her husband was recovering from Gunshot Wounds on several occasions. Since they had no children for the first Two Years of their marriage, they took me on my first cross border trip in the US. Then in 1962, when my mother spent the Summer in Hospital, I stayed with them at their home in Amherstburg. My mother finally made it home before the start of school. They eventually had Three Daughters but always considered me the Son they never had. We vacationed together later on and we even borrowed their Pop-Up Trailer to go camping. Afterwards I’d take all the girls fishing. It was a challenge when there was more than one fish to take off a line at the same time. She lost her husband Bob just ahead of Covid. Lately she has resided in a Nursing Home and fallen twice breaking her Hip/Leg and Wrist. Everyone said she would never walk again but she proved them wrong both times. It was just Time that she could not overcome. May she “Rest in Peace”.
We enjoyed Grilled Cheese Sandwiches for lunch, for supper we had Hotdog Wraps with Acorn Squash as a side.
After cleaning up today’s Dishes, we watched the movie “Elvis”. This was written from the point of view of Colonel Tom Parker with Tom Hanks playing the role.
