iStore claiming my AirPods Max are fake? - Apple Community

I bought a pair of AirPods Max and checked the serial number and warranty on Apple’s website and it all checked out as genuine. I have all the information about when they were bought and when my warranty expires etc. However, I recently checked in my AirPods Max to an iStore as the right side stopped working, and they are claiming they cannot fix them because they are “non genuine?” Has anyone else had this issue before? I’m not sure why they think they’re fake when they have clearly been purchased and registered with Apple.
