Internet supports Akshay Kumar after he reveals being 'thrown' out of Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise

Kartik Aaryan-headlined movies Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 have done impressively well at the box office. The third part even competed with Singham Again during the Diwali holidays in 2024, giving Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty tough competition. While these films have been successful, the original Bhool Bhulaiyaa from 2007, starring Akshay Kumar, still has a strong fan base.

The popularity of that movie helped turn it into a successful franchise. However, many fans have wondered why Akshay Kumar wasn’t part of the sequels. Recently, the actor explained the reason behind his absence and it has left the internet heartbroken. During a recent interaction with Pinkvilla, the actor was told by a fan that they didn’t watch BB 2 and 3 because Akshay didn’t star in it.

Kumar was quick to respond and say, “Beta, mujhe nikaal diya tha (I was removed). That’s it.”

This clip immediately went viral on the internet with many wanting to hug Akshay for confessing this candidly. One user wrote, “Ouch that "that's it" kinda hit hard :(“ Someone added, “Akshay it’s okay, Bhoot Bangla will be the official sequel in our eyes.” The third one said, “Kartik just came and destroyed the magic of such a well-written franchise with his irritating smile and sluggish dialogue delivery.”

For the unversed, Akshay will soon reunite with his Bhool Bhulaiyaa director Priyadarshan for a new film Bhoot Bangla, which is set for release in the latter half of 2025. The horror-comedy is being touted as a new saga that will even surpass the craze of BB and will bring back the OG Akshay Kumar on the big screen.
