Ronnie Edwin Cook of Miami, OK passed from this life Sunday, May 4, 2025 at Eastwood Manor in Commerce, OK. He was 78.
Ronnie was born September 16, 1946 in Miami, OK to Ervin Edwin and Verna (Stoner) Cook. He graduated from Afton High School Class of 1964. He had lived in Ottawa County all his life.
Ronnie was a fieldman for Joplin Regional Stockyards in Joplin, MO for 18 years. He was also a rancher and farmer. He was a member of Mound Valley Baptist Church west of Miami, OK. He had served in the United States Army Reserves.
He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Marcia Perry, his parents, and a brother, Lonnie Cook.
Ronnie married Shirley Maxine (Nash) Cook in 1985 and she survives of the home. He is also survived by 1 son, Terry Cook and his wife Cara of Welch, OK, 2 daughters, Rhonda Alston of Wagoner, OK and Jeannie Harlan and her husband Don of White Oak, OK, 2 step-daughters, Missy Willard and her husband Todd of Miami, OK and Angie Asbell and her husband Lou of Springfield, MO, 1 brother, Roger Cook of Bluejacket, OK, 3 sisters, Janet Porter, Joan Huddleson and her husband David and Sharon McGuire all of Bluejacket, OK, 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2025 at Williams' Timberhill Cemetery, west of Miami, OK with Rev. Gary Rhoades and Pastor Leon Weece officiating. Jarrad Edwards, Malachi Sears, Nick Edwards, Tristin Cook, Tyler Cook and Terry Cook will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Arthur Morgan, Terry Crow, Roger Cook, Cole Cook, Gary Reynolds and Cody Cook.
A Celebration of Life luncheon will follow the graveside service at Narcissa Baptist Church in Narcissa, OK. Services have been placed in the care of Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, OK. Online condolences may be made at www.paulthomasfuneralhomes.com.
