In a first, Indian forces destroyed terror camps 100km inside Pak: Shah

Ahmedabad: Union home minister Amit Shah on Saturday hailed Operation Sindoor saying that India's befitting reply to Pahalgam terror attack has left Pakistan scared."For the first time since Independence, Indian armed forcesdestroyed terror camps 100km inside Pakistan.

Pakistan thought that it would threaten us with atom bombs, and we would be scared. But our armed forces — Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force — gave them a befitting reply.

Our three armed forces responded to bricks with stones," Shah, who is on a two-day visit to Gujarat, said in a public address in Gandhinagar.Addressing a gathering in Kolavada village in Gandhinagar district, Shah said Indian forces eliminated nearly 100 terrorists, destroyed headquarters of terror outfits and also destroyed 15 air bases which eventually reduced Pakistan's air force's ability to hit back.

Shah said PM Narendra Modi himself gave the name ‘Operation Sindoor' in the honour of the country's women. He said that before Modi became the Prime Minister, terrorist attacks used to take place at regular intervals for several years.

"Before Narendra Modi became Prime Minister, the country suffered years of unchecked terrorist attacks. Terrorists backed by Pakistan routinely killed our soldiers, bombed our cities, and plotted with impunity.

No strong response was ever given," Shah said.Contrasting the past with the present, Shah emphasised the govt's decisive retaliation. "During the tenure of PM Modi, India saw three terror attacks backed by Pakistan — first in Uri, second in Pulwama, and third in Pahalgam. In all three instances, India gave a befitting reply. After Uri, we carried out a surgical strike, after Pulwama, we warned them with an air strike, and after Pahalgam, the terror headquarters were razed to ground as part of Operation Sindoor," said Shah.Shah said that the way PM Modi gave a befitting response, the whole world is amazed, and Pakistan is scared. "They (Pakistan-based terrorists) did not learn a lesson from India's response in the past and carried out a terrorist attack in Pahalgam. This time, under Operation Sindoor, we destroyed the headquarters of terrorist organisations," he said."Today I have come with great pride to say that we took revenge for the Pahalgam attack by razing the headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba to the ground.

Pakistani terrorists had mercilessly killed unarmed Indian citizens in front of their families after asking their religion," he said.According to Shah, the Indian Army not only destroyed the headquarters of terror outfits, it also destroyed 9 camps which were used for training terrorists and sending them into India. Shah praised India's air defence and said that none of the air attacks launched by Pakistan through drones and missiles landed on Indian soil."India as a responsible country only attacked the terror camps in Pakistan. But Pakistan dared to attack the western front from Kutch to Kashmir. But let me tell you, under the leadership of PM Modi, our air defence is so strong that none of the missiles or drones reached India's land."On Saturday, Shah presided over five events of the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation at Vavol in Sector 21 of Pethapur, and Kolavda on Saturday.

These include the inauguration of a primary health centre at Vavol, an underbridge joining Sectors 21 and 22, a primary health centre at Pethapur, a lake at Kolavada, and other development projects. On Sunday, the minister will preside over an event titled ‘The Role of Cooperation in Developed India', organised by the Gujarat State Cooperative Union at Science City in Ahmedabad. Later, he will inaugurate a new building of a nursing college at Gozariya in Mehsana district.

He will also inaugurate a ready-to-cook frozen potato processing unit at Sadra in Mehsana district. In Ahmedabad, Amit Shah will inaugurate the newly constructed Pallav flyover at Pallav Char Rasta in Naranpura area of Ahmedabad on Sunday afternoon.
