Iconic scenes as Leeds Utd's Patrick Bamford gobsmacks fans on stage with Kaiser Chiefs - Leeds Live
Leeds United fans were treated to a huge surprise when a star player joined legends Kaiser Chiefs on stage for their homecoming gig.
Forward Patrick Bamford joined the Kaiser Chiefs during their homecoming gig at Temple Newsam. Fans were shocked to see Bamford playing the guitar alongside the band as they belted out their cult hit, "I predict a riot".
The band was also joined by the Championship trophy, just weeks after Leeds won the league. It is is the latest in the line of celebrations by the team, who paraded around the city on an open top bus last month.
Footage of Bamford's turn as guitarist was shared by former Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips on his Instagram page. Standing with another former player, Luke Ayling, Phillips filmed the performance and posted it on his Instagram story, captioning it: "What an absolute legend! @patrick_bamford @luke_ayling2."
Bamford also reposted the footage of his performance, and shared another clip, on which Phillips commented: "My hero."
The Kaiser Chiefs shared amazing pictures of the footballer's star turn, with a post about the night, which they captioned: "Thank you!!! What an incredible evening celebrating with you all, it was everything and more."
Fans were quick to comment that Bamford played an amazing part, with one saying on X - formerly Twitter - "Getting the band back together".
Another said: "At least we now know Paddy has a second career in the pipeline when he hangs up his boots."
Another remarked: "Let this man stay for however long he wants."
