I'm not built for one woman: Don Jazzy's 2021 interview goes viral
A 2021 interview of music producer, Michael Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, where he admitted he is not built for a one-woman relationship, has resurfaced online.
The clip, which began trending on Sunday, was taken from his appearance on The Nancy Isime Show, where he spoke openly about his struggles with monogamy.
Don Jazzy said he prefers to be honest about his inability to stay faithful rather than deceive his partner.
According to him, he cannot commit to just one woman in a relationship.
“I don’t believe that I am strong enough to be with [only] one person. I think people will run away from me being truthful. I will not be dating you and telling you that you’re the only person,” he said.
He added that even when dating someone, he still finds other women attractive. He noted that monogamy doesn’t come naturally to him.
Don Jazzy was previously married to UK-based model and writer, Michelle Jackson, in 2003. The marriage ended in 2005, a decision he blamed on his focus on music.
In 2012, he launched Mavin Records after the split of Mo’ Hits Records, which he co-founded with D’Banj. His label has since signed top artistes like Rema, Ayra Starr, Ladipoe, Crayon and Johnny Drille.
The resurfaced interview has sparked mixed reactions online. While some social media users applauded his honesty, others criticised his views on relationships.
Some also compared his comments to those of singer 2Baba, who once said men are wired to want multiple women. 2Baba later apologised after backlash trailed the statement.
