I deeply regret getting involved in Ghana football - Dr. Kwame Kyei
Bankroller of Ghana Premier League side Nations FC, Dr. Kwame Kyei, has expressed "deep regret" over getting involved in Ghana football following the acts of violence that occurred during the clash against Basake Holy Stars on Sunday.
Chairman Kyei was allegedly assaulted, along with club president Mr. Divine Kyei Boadu, at the Ampain AAK II Arena.
Nations FC eventually abandoned the game, citing what they deemed as unfair officiating after two contentious penalties were awarded to the hosts.
"I have regretted getting involved in Ghana football," Dr. Kyei told Asempa FM.
"I have lost the passion for it. We are hoping for a change. If we all sit and only complain about it, then we are not acting right as elderly people."
The Ghana FA is yet to react to the incident.
A victory for Nations FC would have secured their first-ever Premier League title.
