Hubballi: The vibrant atmosphere in Hubballi was filled with excitement as residents celebrated Holi with traditional fervour. Families came out early on Tuesday morning for celebrations to avoid the intense afternoon heat.
People used organic colours, water pistols, and festive accessories. Children were thrilled, carrying their water balloons and colour packets while running through their neighbourhoods in many residential areas.
Housing societies and organisations in commercial and residential areas celebrated the festival of colours and organised special Holi gatherings with proper safety measures in place. Many residents opted for natural and eco-friendly colours made from flowers and herbs.
Police personnel were deployed across various localities to maintain law and order. Healthcare facilities remained alert to handle any emergencies. Many residents also organised small get-togethers on their terraces and gardens, sharing traditional snacks and sweets with neighbours.
The celebrations concluded till early afternoon in residential areas. As temperature continued to rise, most families retreated indoors for lunch gatherings with relatives and close friends, continuing the festive spirit with traditional meals and conversations.
In Hubballi, residents installed more than 250 Kamanna idols across various localities. Initially, people organised processions in their respective neighbourhoods before converging at prominent areas such asg Maratha Galli, Bani Oni, Kamaripeth, Koppikar Road, Old Hubballi, and other locations. Women participated enthusiastically and in substantial numbers during the Holi festival and enjoyed rain dance and other activities.
PUC students attended their final examinations and celebrated with colours while returning home. Many college students were seen waiting at various bus stops for transportation. While HDBRTS bus services remained suspended, local Bendre and other bus services continued their operations. Commercial establishments, mainly restaurants and shops, were closed.
Police personnel and community members actively joined the Holi celebrations at numerous locations throughout the city.
