Corbin Flores is a special needs student at Whitehouse, and over the year, through classes, has developed a strong bond with players and coaches alike. Earlier in the season, they brought him to a scrimmage, and haven’t looked back since. “As soon as the games began, like, Corbin is a part of the team and now he wears a uniform. He’s all in,” said Whitehouse baseball head coach, Greg Branch.

For some special needs kids, the chance to race against an opponent or lunge a ball as far as they can may not come often, if at all. But Friday at Diboll High School’s Lumberjack Stadium, over a hundred students got the chance to be like an Olympian. Seven deep East Texas school districts had Olympians representing, like Lufkin, Cushing, and Central ISD.
