HGTV Stars Dave and Jenny Marrs Settle Lawsuit from Clients Who Claim They Failed to Complete Work
A lawsuit that was filed against Dave and Jenny Marrs has officially been settled days before a trial was set to begin, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE.
Arkansas couple Matthew and Sarah McGrath claimed the HGTV stars' companies, Marrs Construction and Jupiter Rentals, failed to complete upgrades to their home, leading to an alleged breach of contract and warranty. They claimed both companies worked on the home, according to the original complaint filed in 2023.
A settlement was reached days before the Fixer to Fabulous couple's trial was set to be held on Jan. 27, per a Jan. 24 filing.
The document states that the Marrs and McGraths “stipulate that all pending . . . have been fully compromised by settlement" and the lawsuit will be "dismissed with prejudice.”

Dave and Jenny Marrs on 'Fixer to Fabulous' season 6The McGraths' lawsuit first claimed that they entered into a contract to purchase their Arkansas home from Jupiter Rentals (through Dave Marrs) on May 22, 2022.
They allegedly put a down payment of $15,000 on the $559,000 house and requested specific upgrades to be done by Marrs through Jupiter Rentals. The company allegedly agreed to perform the upgrades, amounting to $10,125 worth of work before the closing date.
The McGraths performed an inspection and submitted a list of repairs to Jupiter, per the filing. However, the document alleged that “not a single item on the list of repairs” had been performed as of their closing date of Aug. 28, 2022.
The McGraths also claimed that “a multitude of additional defects in the construction of the home” were discovered after they acquired ownership.
As they were provided a builder’s warranty from Marrs Construction, the McGraths attempted to seek an agreement with them to repair the issues per the warranty. But they claim the company declined.
The McGraths claim they tried to do the same via Jupiter Rentals, but the company did not respond.
As a result, the McGraths alleged in the lawsuit that both Jupiter Rentals and Marrs Construction breached the warranty, while Jupiter Rentals allegedly also breached the contract.
They stated that they were entitled “all costs associated with the repair” of their home that stemmed from the companies’ “failure to perform.” They also requested to be awarded their attorney’s fees and costs of litigation, per the filing.
Representatives for HGTV and the McGraths' attorney did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.
Dave and Jenny Marrs rose to HGTV fame renovating houses in their hometown of Bentonville, Ark. Their show, Fixer to Fabulous, has been on the air since 2019.
