WILLISTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Hazmat crews were called to Williston on Monday to clear a hazardous spill from a roadway.
First responders say they found a tractor-trailer had leaked about 55 gallons of a corrosive oxidizing liquid onto the road. That’s something that can damage or destroy other materials through a chemical reaction.
Hazmat teams worked to neutralize the spill and stop it from getting into the stormwater system.
Employees in the terminal had to be evacuated, and Avenue D was closed for more than 5 hours
No one was hurt. BSP is now working with a private contractor to complete the cleanup.
