Announcing the major infrastructure drive that will open up job opportunities in the country and drive development, Roads and Highways Minister, Governs Kwame Agbodza says the much talked about deplorable Sunyani-Techiman Bole Bamboi Hamile stretch of the N12 will see immediate construction under the agenda.

He made this comment after visiting Bamboi in a nationwide road inspection on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.

“Myself and the engineers prior to the visit here did some studies and it’s quite clear that the third quarter proposal to start work all the way to Hamile, we can sail through this.

“Because of the nature of the road and the things that happen on the road in terms of armed robbery, they have all diverted, you can imagine what that means to the people who live in this area so it is quite a situation that we need to deal with urgently.

“So we are still on schedule to see this project started as we said in the third quarter of this year all the way to Hamile,” the Minister noted.

He said the President is committed to completing the project by end of his tenure.

“I can guarantee you that President Mahama is going to deliver that by the end of this tenure,” he added.

The Minister assured that government will begin awarding contracts in the next two to three months to show its commitment to improving road infrastructure in the country.

“We are going to restart the Dambai bridge, the Ekyi Amanfom bridge in the Afram Plain area, the loop around Kumasi, the loop around Accra and a number.

“At the moment, the first phase is in twelve different projects in Ho, Aflao. We are actually awarding a number of them within the next two to three months to start to show the commitment we have towards this project. It is not about this. Like is said, this is the Western corridor, the Eastern corridor is part of it, the Dambai bridge.”
