Presidential Advisor on the 24-hour Economy policy, Goosie Tanoh, has disclosed that the government is ready to launch the programme on July 2, 2025.

The 24-hour economy policy was one of the major campaign promises of the National Democratic Congress during the 2024 election campaign, to create more jobs and reduce unemployment across the country.

Presenting the policy document to the Speaker of Parliament on Thursday, June 26, 2025, Mr Goosie Tanoh said the move is to officially inform 'the people's representatives' about the government's readiness to roll out the programme, with a launch on Wednesday, July 2 2025.

Providing some details on the policy, Mr Goosie Tanoh said the programme is expanded into three anchors: "production transformation, supply chain and market efficiency, and human capital development."

The three anchors, according to him, are supported by eight sub-programmes.

"Roll 24 - which is the agricultural component, Make 24 - which is the manufacturing component, Connect 24 - the supply chain component, Aspire 24 - which is the mindset change, the resetting of the Ghanaian and Ghanaian bureaucracy with a strong and powerful attitude to work and productivity."

He said the government will also add a strong digital technology training to the TVET curriculum to train a workforce that is ready to take on employment opportunities.

Another component, dubbed 'Show Ghana', is also expected to deliberately showcase Ghana's rich cultural heritage to the rest of the world to attract more tourists, and increase revenue generation through tourism.

Speaker Alban Bagbin, in response, called for legislation to back the programme.

He said the 24-hour Economy Secretariat must make a deliberate effort to get Parliament to pass a bill to ensure the continuity of the policy even when there is a change of government.
