Google unveils Ananta, one of company's largest offices globally campus, in Bengaluru - The Times of India
Google has inaugurated Ananta, one of its largest global offices, in Bengaluru. The company says that its new campus underscores its commitment to India's digital transformation and its role as a key tech hub. The building's name, Ananta, means ‘infinite’ or ‘limitless’ in Sanskrit. It also signifies the boundless potential we see to improve lives through technology.
“Located in Bengaluru, one of the world's fastest-growing tech hubs, Ananta is one of our most ambitious ground-up developments. A collaboration between Google India and a local development and design team, the Ananta campus embodies Google’s latest thinking in workplace design,” the company said.
As per the company, the building's design prioritises connection and collaboration, featuring a "city grid" layout for easy navigation and a central gathering space called Sabha. Individual workspaces and “neighborhoods” cater to both team collaboration and focused individual work.
Accessibility is a key feature of the campus, with tactile flooring, accessible amenities and braille details. The campus grounds, inspired by Bengaluru's "Garden City" moniker, include extensive landscaping and walking paths.
Ananta incorporates numerous sustainability features, including 100% wastewater recycling, rainwater harvesting, and a large smart glass installation to reduce energy use. Interior materials are almost entirely locally sourced.
“Ananta is part of our ongoing efforts to build with and for India and the world. For Google, India has always represented a very special opportunity, not just to reach millions of users within the country with our products and platforms, but also have them shaped by Indian ingenuity, helping them become even more useful for the billions of users we create for globally,” the company added.
