We were embedded with the Liverpool squad throughout Monday as they prepared for the midweek Merseyside derby meeting with Everton.

The Reds will host the Blues at Anfield in an 8pm BST kick-off in Premier League action on Wednesday night.

Here are four things we spotted during our filming at the AXA Training Centre…

It's been two weeks since Liverpool last took to on-pitch action following the recent March international break.

The Reds have been hard at work in recent days upon their return to Merseyside ahead of the midweek contest against their city rivals in L4.

And it was all smiles from the squad as they linked up once again bright and early on Monday morning.

Alisson Becker and Ryan Gravenberch were spotted out on the training pitches alongside their teammates.

The Reds' No.1 returned early from Brazil duty during the international games after a heavy collision in a World Cup qualifier against Colombia.

Gravenberch, meanwhile, departed the Netherlands' UEFA Nations League camp without seeing a competitive minute due to what they described as a fitness issue.

However, both players were involved in the full session under Arne Slot's watch at the AXA Training Centre, with the boss due to give an official update on his squad during his on Tuesday.

Everyone loves a good goal montage, right?

A number of Liverpool's players were put through their paces during training to sharpen their skills in the final third.

Check out their finishing and enjoy the sound of a ball hitting the back of the net…

The Reds are often spotted utilising rondos as part of their training routine.

Monday was no different for the squad, as they put their close control and swift passing to the test, which produced a lovely passage of play.

Nice flick, Kostas.
