Giants finalizing deal to re-sign veteran guard Greg Van Roten - Yahoo Sports

The Giants are re-signing veteran guard , according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Van Roten signed for a bargain $3 million late last offseason and then appeared in all 17 games at right guard and played every snap for Big Blue's offense. The deal is reportedly a one-year contract.

The Giants could still look to add further depth, but after getting some dependability from the 10-year veteran bringing him back makes sense, especially after New York had to use multiple combinations on the offensive line due to injuries.

Undrafted out of Penn in 2012, he spent two seasons with the Green Bay Packers (appearing in 10 games) before going four years between NFL action. After spending some time playing in Canada, he broke in with the Carolina Panthers, playing 37 games over three seasons, before spending two years with the Jets (30 games), and a year each in Buffalo (16 games) and Las Vegas (17 games).

New York added some further offensive line depth earlier Wednesday, agreeing to terms with tackle . The hope is that a healthy can handle the left tackle spot with and Evan Neal competing for snaps at guard, as well.
