to star in another horror-centered feature, The Shepherd.

The horror-thriller is set to be directed by John Hyams, who is known for his work in the horror genre, like 2020’s Alone and 2022’s Sick, from a script written by Alexander Gustaveson. The feature will come from a Spooky Pictures-Image Nation partnership, the production company behind Late Night With the Devil, and will be produced under both production banners. Anton will be handling global rights as well as launching sales in Cannes.

Dastmalchian spoke on first reading the script for the horror film, saying within the first few pages, he was hooked. Dastmalchian immediately wanted to see this high-octane, horrifying world brought to life, and John is the perfect person to make it happen.”

According to Variety, the film is set in “the desolate Nevada night” and centers around “a young woman in labor fleeing an abusive past who has her escape hijacked by a mysterious stranger hiding an ominous threat in the back of her car.” The feature will be executively produced by Dastmalchian with his Good Fiend Films banner, Campbell, Ben Ross, and Derek Dauchy under Image Nation, Rami Yasin for Spooky Pictures, and Yeardley Smith for Paperclip Ltd. The Shepherd is an installment of upcoming features from the collaboration between Spooky Pictures and Image Nation; other projects include Charlie Polinger’s The Plague, which is set to premiere at Cannes in their Un Certain Regard competition, and Randall Okita’s Menace.

Production is to begin for The Shepherd in the fall of 2025.
