According to a close friend and church member, Joyce was not well enough to attend the requiem mass or the burial service in Migori county.

The Alliance Girls High School Form Three student passed away on Tuesday, January 14, after a tragic boiler explosion in Daini alongside her mum.

During the requiem mass at Lavington Church, people who loved the girl gave tribute after beautiful tribute.

Joyce was able to communicate to the mourners via video call, and she said:

"I want to take this opportunity just to say thanks to everyone; thank you from the beginning up to now. I want to pass my gratitude to the church which has held ,encircled me and made me fee a warm," she said.
"I want to thank the Alliance Girls High School for all that you have done," she added.

The loving mum said that she lost the rest of her family when Georgina was only seven months old and since then, she inculcated in the young one's mind that she should behave well since she is the child of a single mum.

"I thank God that for the time you lived, you kept that in your mind. The love that the girl had for me, I cannot explain. Georgina could hug me more than 20 times in a day, and they increased in December 2024; I don't know if it was because she was leaving," said Joyce.
"The bond was a serious, we could plan our family and even make our budget with her. She was like mum are you sure you will manage this fee? She would ask mum what would you like to eat? I will prepare it the best way you want," she said.

Mum Joyce said that her daughter was also intelligent and everything she did was to perfection.

"It is such a pain that I am not able to give her a send off, but we all leave all to God as I fight for my life," she said.

@Magretbundi:

"Indeed it is very heartbreaking. Dear God hold the mothers hand and walk with her,comfort her."

@hylmak:

"Rest in peace Georgina. May God comfort you Joyce. The peace that passeth all understanding is all I’m wishing you."

@Chrsitine Okwiri:

"Dear Jesus cover sister Joyce under your wings."

@BeatriceMogere-k7z:

"May you find favour in God, who can answer your questions. One morning, we shall meet with Georginah."

The Alliance Girls High School student will be buried three months after she passed away in the hospital.
