Gachagua is a tribalist, Karua has no influence; MP Nyamita says no formidable force to oust Ruto

Uriri Member of Parliament Mark Nyamita has opined that there is no formidable force in place to remove President William Ruto from office come the 2027 General Election.

According to Nyamita, the people saying Ruto will only serve one term as President are misguided.

In a panel discussion on Citizen TV’s DayBreak show, Nyamita remarked that the opposition politicians who have since joined forces with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua hold no water.

“The people claiming that President Ruto is a one-term president are misguided because there’s no formidable force to remove him. Gachagua is a tribalist, Martha Karua has zero influence, and if you remove Wamalwa’s name, you remain with Eugene, and we know he doesn’t represent anyone,” Nyamita argued.

The Uriri legislator challenged the opposition to present an alternative agenda to the electorates.

Notable persons who have teamed up against Ruto include Rigathi Gachagua, Kalonzo Musyoka, Martha Karua, Eugene Wamalwa, Fred Matiang’i, among other politicians.

On Thursday, the former DP unveiled a new political outfit named Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP).

Gachagua said that he has spent the last 6 months at his home holding consultations to help shape his political party.

He noted that his party has been forged on the backdrop of the need to provide better leadership for Kenyans and pull them out of the long-standing problems of poor governance.

Gachagua had earlier tendered his resignation from the United Democratic Alliance party earlier this week, denouncing it as the “most dangerous political moment for the people and the Republic of Kenya”.
