indicated a more measured stance. He acknowledged that Lewis Hamilton’s criticism was “extreme,” a notable departure from the typically supportive tone the Frenchman has employed since the British driver’s arrival at Ferrari.

Christian Fittipaldi pointed out that the relationship between Lewis Hamilton and Fred Vasseur has naturally evolved over the years. Having last worked together during Lewis Hamilton’s early career in junior formula racing—most notably in 2005—both individuals have undergone significant professional growth. Fittipaldi emphasized that the pair are no longer the same people they were two decades ago, and this evolution may now be manifesting in how they navigate high-pressure situations within the Ferrari garage.

He went on to explain that the internal atmosphere at Ferrari has changed considerably. Combined with the reality that the SF-25 is not yet capable of consistently challenging Red Bull at the front of the grid, these developments have contributed to a more complex and sometimes tense dynamic between driver and team.

Despite the rocky start, few would question Lewis Hamilton’s ability to win races again. With 105 career victories under his belt, he remains one of the most accomplished drivers in Formula 1 history. However, his adaptation to Ferrari machinery has been slower than anticipated, and the clock is ticking.

As the sport prepares for a major regulation overhaul in 2026, Lewis Hamilton—who will be 41 by then—faces increasing pressure to find form quickly. Many analysts believe that year could offer Ferrari its best opportunity in over a decade to contend for a championship, but for that to happen, Lewis Hamilton must first establish a solid foundation in 2025.

Adding to the complexity is the arrival of key personnel from Mercedes, who followed Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari after his switch was announced last year. These experienced engineers are expected to help tailor the car’s development more closely to Hamilton’s driving preferences, potentially giving him the tools he needs to compete at the highest level once again.

F1 pundit Karun Chandhok recently remarked that consistency will be vital for Hamilton if he is to remain motivated and competitive throughout the remainder of the season. Without it, Karun Chandhok suggested, the British driver could find himself grappling with a series of unwelcome challenges that may hinder his ability to deliver the results Ferrari so desperately craves.
