Ferrari Unveils 'Baby Blue is the New Red' Capsule Collection with Charles Leclerc

Ferrari made a notable appearance in Monte Carlo ahead of its usual Grand Prix schedule. On May 21, just days before the May 25 Grand Prix, the iconic Prancing Horse brand unveiled an exclusive capsule collection at Monaco’s Fairmont Hotel. This special collection was co-created by Ferrari's creative director, Rocco Iannone, and the rising Formula 1 star, Charles Leclerc, transforming the venue in shades of baby blue for the occasion.
The limited-edition “Ferrari for Charles Leclerc” capsule was revealed on the afternoon of May 21, under a vibrant blue sky that mirrored the turquoise waters of Nikki Beach’s pool and the deep Mediterranean Sea. The collection was showcased through a high-impact performance by dancers, embodying movement and energy. Rocco Iannone remarked to FashionNetwork.com at the event, “This dynamism perfectly aligns with Ferrari’s spirit and the essence of this capsule. We wanted to inspire joy and playfulness.”
A sense of freshness and authenticity permeated the event, highlighted by the chromatic harmony of the set design, which revolved entirely around baby blue—the capsule's signature color and Leclerc’s personal favorite. Ferrari fully immersed the presentation space in its visual identity, with the poolside runway, lounge seating, daybeds, and umbrellas all adorned in the capsule’s distinctive hues at Nikki Beach within the Fairmont Hotel.
In close collaboration with Iannone, Charles Leclerc translated his personal off-track style into the garments and accessories, ensuring they reflected his daily life, from travel to leisure. “Authenticity was essential for me. I wanted something that felt true to who I am and how I live,” Leclerc explained. He added, “I travel nearly every day for races, and I always carry my jewelry, watches, helmet—and, of course, my clothes.”
The capsule collection comprises around 30 men’s and women’s looks. A standout feature includes a garment trunk, helmet case, and jewelry box, marking the first time Ferrari has produced such trunks. Iannone detailed their exclusivity: “They’re fully handcrafted in leather and lined with jacquard silk-like fabric, decorated with houndstooth patterns and our signature Prancing Horse symbols. Each piece is made to order, and the wait time reflects the craftsmanship behind them.”
Key pieces within the collection include racing-inspired sweatshirts and T-shirts, cotton parkas and pants featuring oversized carry-all straps, driver suits, and knitwear crafted from technical yarns. Ferrari further enhanced these garments with dimensional textures and embossed detailing. Notably, some items feature the reversed initial “L” for Leclerc’s surname. The denim offerings include light-wash styles and uniquely dyed pieces with irregular color patterns, achieved through immersion dyeing.
Charles Leclerc shared his long-standing interest in fashion and design, revealing, “Ten years ago, before I made it to Formula 1, I even started working on my own collection, but I had to put it aside. Now, with Rocco and the team, we’ve finally made it happen.” This collaborative project also represents an evolution of the Ferrari Cabinet concept, first introduced with the Spring/Summer 2025 collection, which emphasizes precision design, emotional use of color, innovative materials, and refined detailing.
Reflecting on his personal style, Leclerc noted his preference for looser cuts, a departure from his past choices: “I’m a very curious person. I love experimenting with new styles and silhouettes. I tend to favor looser cuts. Ten years ago, I wore super skinny jeans—but not anymore.” In a charming personal touch, the capsule also includes a special tribute to Leo, Leclerc’s beloved dachshund, with a dedicated sweatshirt. “I love sweatshirts—they’re comfortable and make me feel ‘protected.’ I wanted Leo to have one too, so we added it to the collection,” Leclerc concluded with a smile.
The collection is complemented by a wide range of accessories. These include driver gloves, sunglasses marked with the iconic Prancing Horse emblem, baseball caps, and hybrid sneakers featuring double hiking-style lacing. Ferrari also rounded out the accessory offer with a reinterpreted version of the Nello The Ferrari Tool Case bag. This bag, crafted from the same materials and with details similar to the travel trunks, draws its shape inspiration from mechanic toolboxes and features metal bolts and fringes reminiscent of a horse’s mane.
Ferrari will offer the “Ferrari for Charles Leclerc” capsule in a limited run, with accessible luxury pricing. It will be available for purchase through Ferrari’s online store and in select boutiques located in Maranello, Milan, Rome, and Miami. Additionally, to mark the launch, Ferrari opened a new pop-up shop inside the Fairmont Hotel in Monaco on May 21. This temporary store, covering approximately 90 square meters, will remain open for one year, featuring a unique design concept and housing Ferrari’s fashion and lifestyle collections, including licensed lines, collectibles, and other limited-edition products.
