Former Sikhendu Ward Representative Musumba Dies in Road Accident

Former Sikhendu Member of County Assembly (MCA), Eric Musumba, has passed away. Musumba died at Cherangany Nursing Home, where he had been receiving treatment after a recent road accident. The accident occurred last week on the Matunda-Kiminini highway when his car collided with another vehicle, resulting in serious injuries.
According to a family source, Musumba underwent a successful surgery following the accident. However, he succumbed to complications related to high blood pressure. Musumba was elected as MCA on a Ford Kenya ticket and served the Sikhendu ward from 2017 to 2022.
During his tenure, Musumba was known for his efforts in addressing water scarcity issues in Sikhendu market and surrounding areas. His dedication to public service and commitment to improving the lives of his constituents have been widely recognized.
Local leaders, including Kiminini Member of Parliament Maurice Bissau, have expressed their condolences and mourned the loss of the former MCA. Bissau described Musumba as a dedicated and committed leader who played a vital role in driving the economic agenda of the ward.
"He served the ward with dedication and a spirit of selflessness, and he will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to public service, his strong leadership, and his deep desire to uplift the community," said Bissau.
The legislator also emphasized the importance of road safety and urged all road users to adhere to traffic regulations to prevent accidents. He called on law enforcement officers to restrict the movement of trailers transporting sugar cane during the night, citing their contribution to road accidents.
"We are losing many lives on our roads, and it is critical that motorists stick to traffic rules to avoid road carnage," the lawmaker stated.
