Flying Eagles Cruise in Friendlies as Ghana Showdown Approaches

Nigeria’s U-20 men’s national team, the Flying Eagles, continued their preparations for the 2025 WAFU B U-20 Championship with a commanding 4–0 win over Assess Football Academy in a friendly match held on Saturday at the FIFA Goal Project pitch in Abuja, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The dominant display marks their second consecutive friendly victory, following a 2–1 win over Capital City FC earlier in the week.

Under the guidance of their technical crew, the two-time FIFA U-20 World Cup finalists appear to be gaining momentum ahead of their regional campaign. Nigeria will open their WAFU B U-20 tournament against host nation Ghana on July 10, before facing Benin Republic on July 13 in their final group match.

The competition will feature eight West African nations divided into two groups. Nigeria, Ghana, and Benin make up Group A, while Group B includes Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Niger Republic, and Togo. The top two teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals.

Originally postponed, the WAFU B U-20 Championship has now been rescheduled and will run from July 10 to 23, 2025 in Ghana. The tournament provides a platform for rising talents in the region to showcase their potential on a competitive stage.
