Florence Pugh's Favorite Horror Movie

Florence Pugh, known for her roles in films like Midsommar and Dune, has expressed her admiration for the 1991 horror-thriller, The Silence of the Lambs. In a 2018 interview discussing her role in The Little Drummer Girl, Pugh revealed that The Silence of the Lambs is her favorite movie and book. She particularly admires the character of Hannibal Lecter, famously portrayed by Anthony Hopkins.
Pugh has even considered how she might play a character inspired by Hannibal Lecter. She suggested the idea of "Hannah Lecter," envisioning herself as Lecter's daughter, who is also insane and enjoys eating flesh off people’s faces. This idea showcases Pugh's deep engagement with the source material and her creative vision for continuing the legacy of the iconic villain.
While Pugh may not physically resemble Hannibal Lecter, her acting range and intensity could bring a unique interpretation to a similar character. Although a Silence of the Lambs spin-off starring Pugh is unlikely due to movie rights belonging to Amazon MGM Studios, her passion for the story and her proven talent make her a worthy candidate for adapting one of her favorite stories.
Interestingly, after the interview, Pugh starred in Midsommar, where her character Dani undergoes a transformation, ultimately becoming the final villain by surrendering her empathy to a murderous Swedish cult. However, Pugh has yet to play a truly villainous role with the same cultural impact as Hannibal Lecter.
Despite the challenges in realizing her vision, Florence Pugh's passion for The Silence of the Lambs and her concept for a "Hannah Lecter" demonstrate her creative ambition and potential to bring a fresh perspective to the horror genre. Her ability to immerse herself in complex characters, as seen in her diverse filmography, positions her as an actress capable of tackling such a challenging role.
