COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — The Pickaway County Public Health Department has announced a flooding alert for the area surrounding Hargus Creek in Circleville.

The following roads in Pickaway County remain closed:

  • Island Rd between Hassle Drive and High Street

Officials are reminding residents not to drive through flooded areas.

John Strawser, Captain - Detective Bureau Commander at Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office. said he has lived in Pickaway County for 44 years and he’s never seen flooding in Circleville like what they’ve seen overnight.

He said Ted Lewis Park in the center of town is completely underwater with the water level up to the roof of the picnic shelters.

As of 2 p.m., the Kroger parking lot and surrounding areas are starting to dry up.

Residents with homes and/or property impacted by flooding are asked to fill out the county's Damage Assessment Survey at https://arcg.is/1GH91G1.
