Flash flooding water rescue at the Pocket Wilderness

Published 12 hours ago1 minute read

SODDY DAISY, Tenn. (WDEF) – On Sunday around 5:30 pm, a heavy rainstorm produced a flash flooding at the Pocket Wilderness hiking area.

This afternoon’s thunderstorm in Soddy Daisy created the creek to rise rapidly.

Several people were trapped on one side of the creek and unable to cross safely.

Mowbray volunteer fire department (VFD) and Dallas Bay VFD had their swift water teams set up a rope system and rescued those people trapped on the other side of the creek.
