Firm moves to boost child nutrition, education in Ekiti
In a bid to reinforce its corporate social responsibility and deepen community impact, Promasidor Nigeria has launched ‘Ikun Milk Day,’ a nutrition-focused initiative aimed at enhancing the welfare and educational development of school children in Ekiti State.
The initiative, unveiled at the Ikun Dairy Farm in Ikun-Amure, a joint venture between Promasidor Nigeria and Fountain Holdings Limited, will provide pupils in five local primary schools with a weekly supply of fresh milk.
This will be accompanied by educational sessions on nutrition and dairy farming, reinforcing the value of healthy dietary practices among young learners.
Governor Biodun Oyebanji, in his remarks, lauded Promasidor for its investment in grassroots development, noting that the initiative aligns with the state’s efforts to promote child welfare and educational attainment.”
“This initiative is not just about milk; it’s about securing the future of our children. By boosting nutrition, we also drive school enrolment and attendance,” he said.
Oyebanji described the programme as a sustainable investment in the cognitive and academic development of children.
“This project reflects our commitment to giving back in a sustainable way. Good nutrition is essential for cognitive development and academic performance,” Udoma-Eniang stated.
Beneficiary schools include AUD/CAC United Nursery and Primary School, St. Thomas’ Catholic Nursery and Primary School, Seventh Day Adventist Nursery and Primary School, All Saints Anglican Nursery and Primary School, and Community Primary School, Ikun-Amure.
