Fire sparks in Montrose County: Now 90% contained

REDVALE, Colo. (KKCO) - A fire sparked in the Coventry Hill area outside of Redvale, 4 miles West of Norwood in Montrose County on June 29.

According to the San Miguel County Sheriff’s Office, a Tesla Cybertruck was on fire, and a towable wood chipper was ignited.

San Miguel Deputies, Montrose Deputies, and Norwood Fire all responded to the scene.

30 firefighters engaged in the efforts, assisted by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), US Fish and Wildlife Services, Williams Construction, Naturita Fire, Paradox Fire, and USFS.

As of 3:25 pm, the fire was 90% contained. The cause is still unknown at this time.
