FIBA Basketball: Hangzhou Wins Title & Top EuroBasket Scorers

Hangzhou (CHN) showcased their dominance in 3x3 basketball by winning the FIBA 3x3 Hongcheon Challenger 2025. Their journey included victories over teams like Liman (SRB), Skyliners (GER), and Riffa (BRN), culminating in a final win against Raudondvaris Hoptrans (LTU). Aleksandar Lazic and Filip Kaluderovic played key roles, with Kaluderovic earning the MVP award.

Raudondvaris Hoptrans (LTU) reached the final after defeating Sagamihara HIU EXE (JPN), Skyliners (GER), and Liman (SRB). Evaldas Dziaugys stood out in the absence of Aurelijus Pukelis. They faced a tough challenge from Utrecht (NED) in the semi-finals but managed to secure their spot in the final.

The final match saw Hangzhou defeat Raudondvaris Hoptrans 21-17, with key performances from Kaluderovic and Lazic. Their win secured them a spot at the WT Vienna.

The FIBA Women's EuroBasket all-time scoring charts feature numerous prolific players. Olessia Barel, with 479 points, played in six tournaments and secured six titles with the dominant Soviet Union team. Katerina Elhotova, Gunta Basko and Ilona Korstin each scored 483 points. Elhotova played in seven tournaments, while Basko and Korstin showcased longevity with participation across many years. Korstin secured three titles and six final appearances with Russia.

Eva Nemcova scored 485 points and won a title in 2005, years after her debut. Anastasiya Verameyenka, known for her shot-blocking, scored 486 points. Yelena Leuchanka, part of Belarus's 'twin towers', scored 489 points. Zuzana Zirkova scored 490 points over six tournaments.

Bozena Sedzicka scored 519 points and led Poland to back-to-back finals. Elisabeth Riffiod, with 516 points, is considered one of the best French centers. Mariana Badinici scored 519 points and performed exceptionally in the 1980 and 1983 editions. Rosa Castillo scored 528 points, becoming an integral part of the Spanish team. Eva Viteckova scored 532 points and won a title in 2005.

Margo Dydek scored 536 points and is a legend of the game, leading Poland to a title in 1999. Nevriye Yilmaz and Anita Elize Pountain each scored 547 points. Anete Jekabsone-Zogota scored 556 points. Irene Guidotti scored 557 points and helped France reach the final in 1970. Maria Magdolna Jerebie scored 562 points.

Jacky Chazalon scored 565 points and is a French basketball legend. Elena Baranova and Evladiya Slavcheva each scored 586 points. Bianca Rossi scored 587 points. Judith Andrea Balogh scored 601 points. Evanthia Maltsi scored 604 points. Vanja Vojnova scored 619 points.

Catarina Pollini scored 640 points and led Italy to seven consecutive editions. Amaya Valdemoro scored 675 points. Olga Sukharnova scored 677 points and collected nine winner medals. Alba Torrens scored 681 points and secured three titles. Zsuzsanna Boksay scored 700 points. Lenke Kiss scored 701 points. Carla Ida De Liefde scored 703 points. Katalin Ratvay-Czirakine scored 748 points.

Penka Stoyanova scored 777 points. Maria Stepanova scored 807 points. Agnes Nemeth scored 813 points. Sandrine Gruda scored 839 points and continues to add to her total. Marija Veger-Demsar scored 933 points. Uliana Semjonova scored 1014 points, being the only player to surpass 1000 points and is considered one of the best European players ever.
