FC Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick will make up to six changes when his team faces Osasuna in La Liga on Saturday.

Some might find that to be risky business, considering the last time Flick rested players against this opposition, the Catalans were soundly beaten 4-2 in El Sadar.

Losing once again could see Barca cede its one point lead at the La Liga summit over Atletico Madrid, and three point advantage at the expense of bitter rival Real Madrid.

There’s a Champions League last 16 second leg tie against Benfica to contest on Tuesday as well, though, where Flick’s men are on the positive side of a tight 1-0 scoreline.

At his prematch press conference on Friday, though, Flick insisted that this time “it will be different” because his team won’t play away and there “have been many changes”.

“It is important to have the best possible team on the pitch. Now we are on another level in terms of team performance. I have a positive approach for tomorrow’s game,” he added.

“We have not yet decided how many we will do, but we must do them,” Flick also said when asked about rotations.

“It’s important, but the important thing is to have our best team on the pitch. We have achieved it and we will also do it tomorrow.”

Still Flick is expected to make several, though Wojciech Szczesny keeps his place as Flick’s undisputed number one between the sticks amid rumors that locker room heavyweights have insisted on this.

Sent off against Benfica, Pau Cubarsi is one of the central defenders that partners Eric Garcia, while Gerard Martin again comes in for Alejandro Balde at left back and Jules Kounde remains the right back.

Marc Casado forms a double pivot with the man that has dislodged him from the starting XI in Frenkie de Jong meaning Pedri gets a rest.

Dani Olmo moves across to the left wing, so that a Raphinha called one of the best players in the world by Osasuna coach Vicente Moreno can catch a breather and Gavi can start as a CAM.

While Lamine Yamal stays on the right wing, Ferran Torres comes in for Robert Lewandowksi as the number 9.
