Farooq Abdullah's convoy car crashes into cow near Rajasthan's Dausa on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway

AJMER/JAIPUR: A vehicle in the convoy of former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah met with an accident on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway on Friday. The National Conference president was travelling from Delhi to Ajmer when the accident occurred.
Abdullah visited Ajmer to pray at Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti's dargah, where he regularly pays homage to the Sufi Saint.

While on the way, near the Bhandarej Interchange in Dausa district, a cow suddenly appeared on the expressway, causing a Delhi Police vehicle to crash. Deputy Superintendent of Police Ravi Prakash Sharma confirmed the collision occurred due to a cow.

The vehicle sustained severe damage to its front section. Two Delhi police personnel, including head constable Pappu Lal, received minor injuries and were taken to Dausa district hospital. The two policemen were discharged following first aid treatment.

Officials reported that a Dausa police team reached at the scene and provided replacement escort vehicles for Abdullah's convoy, allowing him to proceed with his journey to Ajmer.
The incident has prompted questions about safety measures on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. Despite being promoted as a modern and secure roadway, the recurring presence of stray animals has exposed significant safety concerns.. tnn
