Fabian Lengusuranga: William Ruto Promotes His ADC to Brigadier Rank

President William Ruto's Aide-de-Camp (ADC), Fabian Lengusuranga, has acquired a new rank following his promotion.

Lengusuranga, having been a colonel in from Kenya Army, was promoted to the brigadier rank, placing him on the path to being a major general.

Fabian joined the military 1999 in which he rose to be the senior line commander in the elitist special forces unit within the KDF, which is charged with undertaking highprofile military operations.

Lengusuranga assumed the president's ADC roles in October 2022, taking over from Major General Stelu Lekolool who was deployed back to the Department of Defence headquarters after serving as former president Uhuru Kenyatta's ADC for four years.

He has been trademark in Ruto's public appearnces, both official and otherwise.

Lengusuranga is mainly tasked with assisting the president in carrying his personal effects, opening the car door, and providing fulltime security to the head of state, besides giving the president a ceremonial dignity.

The new brigadier has been a trademark in Ruto's spectacle for the near three years he has been in power, often getting himself at the delicate security breaches in which civilians have strived to have a one on one with the president.

With his new rank, Lengusuranga is ripe to command batallions constituting a brigae, and lead in strateging plans for a specific operation.

Besides Lengusuranga, the president also promoted Lekolool to the rank of a major general.

The former ADC had been brigadier for three years; he was promoted from the colonel rank in 2022 by Uhuru.

Now ahead of Lekolool is the liutenant general rank and the commander post in the Kenya Navy.

In other majors changes, the president promoted Major General David Ketter to a liutenant general and immeditaely making him the commander of the Kenya Army.

With his new designation, Ketter is slated to be the new Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) in the rotational system that decides who leads the KDF.

The current CDF is General Charles Kahariri, a Navy officer who took over from the late General Francis Ogolla, who was drawn from the Kenya Air Force.

Before Ogolla was Retired General Francis Kibochi from the Kenya Army, who took over from Retired General Samson Mwathethe of the Kenya Navy.

Meanwhile, General Fatuma Ahmed was close to making history as the first woman to be the CDF.

She was the first woman to be the the Kenya Air Force commander.

Fatuma has however retired from the service after 42 years.

Her roled as the Kenya Air Force commander has been taken over by Major General Bernard Waliaula.
