Whether it's F1 the film or F1 the races at Silverstone this weekend, it's undeniable that Formula 1 fever has taken over the city and our FYPs.

While the motor sport itself has been gathering steam in the last decade, collecting swarms of fans along the way thanks to hit Netflix shows like Formula 1: Drive to Survive, in recent years, we've seen a large investment by luxury brands into the sport, which speaks to their confidence in how the glamorous world of racing will continue to influence everything from what we watch to what we wear.

After Chanel staged a racetrack-inspired cruise collection (complete with checkerboard helmet clutches) in 2023, this year, LVMH announced a 10-year partnership with F1, reportedly worth more than $1 billion with annual sponsorship fees topping $100 million through their brands like Louis Vuitton and TAG Heuer. Smaller brands have since followed suit, from Levi's partnership with McClaren to Perfect Moment's limited-edition collaboration with the BWT Alpine team. Walk by Selfridges these few weeks and you'll see their Corner Shop pop-up space filled with F1 memorabilia and an actual race car sat in the middle of the floor for shoppers to admire.

American label Tommy Hilfiger, who was one of the first fashion brands to launch a racing-inspired collection fronted by Gigi Hadid back in 2018, returned as a major player behind the new F1 movie starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris as the key sponsor for the fictional APXGP team featured in the film. A capsule collection of bomber jackets, hoodies and caps inspired by the outfits in the movie was promptly available for purchase at Selfridges shortly after the premiere.

These brands have made F1 into the one of the most prestigious and chicest sports to follow today (giving Wimbledon a run for its money), which in turn, has attracted celebrities and influencers alike to the races. From Priyanka Chopra posing in front of the Ferrari garage to Jennifer Lopez gracing the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in a Barbie-pink catsuit, not only has celebrity-watching become a sport in itself alongside the races, but their presence has shown that F1 is no longer reserved for the boys. The girlies have come to play and the fashion brands have responded. So what we're trying to say is, whether you're a gearhead or not is besides the point. Formula 1 fever is not going anywhere and it's coming for your wardrobes.

So what exactly does F1-inspired dressing look like? Of course, there are pieces that take after the drivers' literal uniforms of logo-splattered racing suits, and bomber jackets worn off the tracks. But lots of pieces cropping up at our favourite labels take more subtle cues from the pit lanes, be it checkerboard prints, sleek leather trousers or a blazing Ferrari-red dress.

Below are the brands in pole position delivering the F1-inspired pieces.
